When ordering your filter, it helps to know exactly what you need. In addition to all of the helpful information we have on our website, we wanted to go over some of the terms you might need to know.
When you give us a call to place an order, the first thing we are going to ask is what type of filter you need. Here are some of the terms you’ll need to know!
Aluminum filters kind of look like a Brillo pad. They are woven mesh.
A pleated filter is a filter that has those waves in the material. They are used for furnaces.
Carbon filters, also called Polysob, carbon activated, or charcoal filters, are meant for odor elimination. These are typically used in a kitchen range to filter cooking odors.
Many filters will have a little plastic tab on them to help with installation.
Some range filters also have light lenses. If your range has a lightbulb, then you will want to get a filter that has a properly sized lens.
Some filters also have drain holes to drain liquid out as you’re washing it.
As always, it helps to know the measurements of your filter so we can help you get the right one for your application.
